THE WHY

Why, and what for

From early on I carried two things: a habit of seeing life as a system of connected parts, and a stubborn instinct to ask whether something could be done better. That instinct followed me into medical school, where the question I kept pressing was how far we could actually take a patient — not just toward fewer symptoms or better-controlled disease, but toward genuine healing, and in many cases reversal, through the way a person lives.

The call to functional medicine came in the hospital. I saw how much calm, reassurance, and real transformation could come from the things the protocols left out: human connection, patient education, and changing the daily inputs of a life. So I followed that path.

What I see now gives the work its urgency. Chronic disease keeps rising and drug-resistant conditions keep growing. We're extending lifespan, but the gap between how long we live and how well we live — our healthspan and wellspan — keeps widening. Closing that gap takes a systems-level, root-cause, lifestyle-first approach. That is the medicine I practice.

“More important than any of the above… I am a human being whose intention is to share and teach, by example, a way of living rooted in science and consciousness — one that optimizes our biological and spiritual health as beings who are part of a community and an ecosystem.”
